Arosa has always been stunning, snow sure and family friendly. Recent investment, into snow cannons and ski lifts, has ‘snowballed’ to further enhance this traditional gem of a Swiss Mountain location:-
1) is the new Train Station and its 100 Year Jubilee Carriages – climbing 1000 m in one hour. 100 years ago it took six hours by horse and carriage. Today, the tram strolls through Chur past the city walls, to Maltese Tower and Upper Gate. Minutes later the train curves through untouched nature and the mountain area of the Schanfigg. Taking the Langwieser viaduct over the Plessur, the destination is Arosa at 1800m altitude.
2) your eye will catch the mega Hotel front inspired by Hundertwasser
3) you may be drawn to ArosabyNights flagship ‘underground nightclub P13’ or the funky bar tunes above
5) and a Michelin Star Thai Restaurant, amongst all the other entries in the Michelin guide.
6) and the Hoernlihutte is under ‘Eden’ Management, Hitch Leu.

Start your Christmas morning with a festive snowy view, get in the mood with Christmas Carols or more modern Festive Tunes, fill up with a ‘to order’ cooked breakfast and Bucks Fizz; head out to the slopes (everything is open and working as usual) for a fantastic day of skiing, and come home to freshly made afternoon tea, canapés and a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.
Christmas is always a special time for families and we want to make sure you have that feeling in your home from home. You’re also more than welcome to bring your presents along too and leave them under the tree, ready for Christmas morning. Please note your party has exclusive ramblings of the chalet – five bedrooms, five bathrooms, two living rooms, wellness room, drying room, ski room – whilst someone else is busy in the kitchen preparing your next meals!
You have the opportunity to note any food that cannot be eaten by an individual or group so that we can discuss general requirements and expectations before the holiday begins. Food is a very important part of your holiday and we are serious about the food side, as much as the ‘comfort’ aspect of your holiday. Childrens Menus are usually separate from Adult meals, except at Christmas when everyone can eat together in one sitting and pull the ‘crackers’ together.
The beauty of having a family holiday in Chalet Runca is that children can leave the table to play with their presents or watch a film, or go to bed, whilst the adults can enjoy the meal and conversation for longer.
